This Vatadage and its surrounding area are ruins of a monastery with the earliest reference recorded around 2nd century AD- Yet another isolated and tranquil environment to immerse yourself in besides the religious and architectural feats.

4. Enjoy the waters of the Parakarama Samudraya

What seems as vast as the ocean as far as the eyes can see, along with the strong breeze that makes it more convincing, is nothing but deceit! The Parakrama Samudraya is such an enormous and shallow reservoir engineered during the reign of King Parakramabahu I. Make sure you stay back in your row-boat and enjoy the sunset beside the massive cover of water lily flowers.

Resembling a rare ziggurat, it is the perfect display of the foreign influence on architecture present here generating some Cambodian vibe out there…
